Fort Worth homicide detectives book suspects on suspicion of murder in separate deaths

Fort Worth police homicide detectives on Wednesday arrested two suspects in separate killings in the city.
Charles Gordon, 43, was booked on suspicion of murder in the death of a man whose body was found Monday near a bus stop in the 200 block of Tennessee Avenue, according to police.
Jerome Higgins, 24, was discovered about 7 a.m. on the ground with a puncture wound to his upper torso.
Evidence at the scene indicated the killing did not occur at the location where Higgins’ body was found, police said.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office had not by Wednesday night released the cause of his death.
Also Wednesday, police booked on suspicion of murder a second suspect in connection with a December killing at an east Fort Worth house.
Police accused Benny Pena, 22, in the killing of 18-year-old Alejandro Pina, who died at a hospital after he was shot Dec. 10.

He was struck by a round in the torso at his house in the 4300 block of Vinson Street, authorities have said.
Antonio Rodriguez, 18, was indicted March 16 on a murder charge in Pina’s slaying.
Police have not publicly described a motive in either killing.
